Gentlemen and ladies, have you ever had one of those awkward elevator rides with strangers? You know, the ones where everyone stares at the floor or their phone, pretending the other people don’t exist?
Well, a few days ago, I got into an elevator with a guy who clearly didn’t care about social norms. We were going up, and out of nowhere, he turns to me and says, “So, what’s your escape plan if this thing breaks down?”
I laughed nervously and said, “Uh, press the alarm button?”
He nodded, dead serious, and replied, “Good plan. I’ll climb through the hatch.”
We rode the rest of the way in silence, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Who even thinks about that?
What about you, folks? Do you have an elevator escape plan, or is it just me overthinking now?
