The heroine of the world-famous fairy tale by Charles Perrault Cinderella is known to everyone. However, not everyone knows that she, as it turned out, had an older sister and lived in Egypt. Her name was Rhodopis.
The Adventures of French and Egyptian fairy-tale heroines are very similar to each other. But instead of a crystal shoe, as happened with Cinderella, Rhodopis lost her golden sandal.
This is evidenced by drawings on an ancient Egyptian papyrus, which describes The Adventures of Cinderella-a Rhodope from the banks of the Nile.
